The Channel Zero Hour Epi. 52: The 1938 War Of The Worlds Radio Broadcast

It's HALLOWEEN! And so we've cooked up a super-speciality: THE NIGHT THAT PANICKED AMERICA: THE 1938 WAR OF THE WORLDS RADIO BROADCAST!

The first web award we received was back in 1996 from Best Of Internet for our War of the Worlds sound page ( https://earthstation1.com/wotw.html ). That radio show was broadcast on Mischief Night 1938, and at the end of the broadcast, a clearly overwhelmed Orson Welles explained that it was intended as a Halloween offering, and not to be taken seriously. In 2008, we released THE NIGHT THAT PANICKED AMERICA, the 1975 docudrama about that broadcast, on DVD for the first time. It became an instant hit, and provided many people who otherwise would not known of the backstory with an insight into the phenomenon that was that broadcast.

Now, we're broadcasting it on Channel Zero for the first time!
